An Orchestra for Every School Project (HOBİO), which is one of the projects pioneered by Fatih Municipality and started with the education period of 2014, continues to grow with the participation of new schools in the forthcoming period.
Within the scope of the HOBİO project conducted within Fatih Municipality Sulukule Art Academy, western music education was started by providing the instrument and instructor support in Tarık Us Secondary School, Cibali Secondary School, Vedide Baha Pars Secondary School, Yedikule Anatolian High School and Pertevniyal High School firstly in 2014. Gelenbevi Anatolian High School, Vefa High School, İbrahim Alaaddin Gövsa Secondary School, Davutpaşa Anatolian High School, Çemberlitaş Anatolian High School, Atatürk Modern Life Multi Program Anatolian High School were also involved in the project in 2015. In these schools, the classes also continue as classical western music.
7 SCHOOLS HAVE ALSO BEEN INCLUDED IN THE PROJECT
The project, which attracted great interest from the students, started to work in order to open branches of Turkish Art Music and Turkish Folk Music during the last training period, and 7 new schools have been included in the project with the studies carried out. Among these, instruments were delivered to the students participating in the project in Cağaloğlu Anatolian High School, Private Sultan Fatih Secondary School, Private Bezcian Armenian Secondary School and Private Mektebim Secondary School, and Turkish Art Music education was started in company with the instructors. Turkish Art Music choirs were also established in these schools. Turkish Folk Music trainings were started in Mehmet Akif Secondary School, Selcuk Girls’ Technical Anatolian High School and Tevfik Kut Secondary School.
600 STUDENTS ARE RECEIVING PROFESSIONAL MUSIC EDUCATION
Trainings are provided for a total of 350 students in schools where Classical Western Music education is given. These students are receiving the trainings of violin, viola, cello, contrabass, clarinet, flute, oboe, bassoon, trombone, trumpet and horn instruments. Trainings are provided for 85 students in schools where Turkish Folk Music education is given. These students are provided with baglama, seat drum, end-blown flute and choir trainings. Trainings are provided for 140 students in schools where Turkish Art Music education is given. These students are receiving ney, qanun, oud, frame drum, classical kemancha and choir trainings.
TRAININGS ARE ALSO GOING ON DURING SUMMER HOLIDAY
Since the 2016-2017 education and training period ended and the schools are closed, trainings will continue at Sulukule Art Academy without slowing down as of July 3. The project will continue its trainings at full speed by growing with the participation of new schools in the 2017-2018 education and training period.
