Real Madrid’s football star Karim Benzema attended the iftar program in Fatih, Istanbul.
Algerian-origin French player, who came to Fatih for the iftar program, first paid a visit to the Mayor of Fatih in his office at the Municipality.
Received the famous football player in his office, Mayor Demir gave information to Benzema about the history and historical artifacts of Fatih. After a long conversation, Mayor Demir presented Benzema with the miniature of Süleymaniye Mosque.
Benzema and President Demir later visited Zekeriya Akgül, a 45-year-old man who lives bedridden after an accident when he was an amateur football player. During the visit, they had touching feelings.
The children who heard that famous football star came to the neighborhood showed great interest to Benzema.
French player Karim Benzema, playing for Real Madrid in Spain’s La Liga, and Fatih Mayor Mustafa Demir were then joined to the street iftar program in front of Haseki Sultan Social Complex.
Benzema and Demir broke their fast there together. Before the iftar, the Muslim player who visited Turkey on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan distributed food packages to the families in need in Fatih, accompanied by Mayor of Fatih Mustafa Demir.
